Following the latest release Prey at Night / Blood Orange Beach (Artist spotlight: 6Music Recommends, Fresh Pressed Playlist Soundcloud, Alternative Playlist Amazing Radio), Kayla Painter releases a follow up aa-side.

Given Kayla’s work focuses heavily on the audio visual relationship, as an exclusive to Bandcamp she will be releasing a limited run of 3D artwork prints.

The merchandise bundle includes four original pieces of new artwork, and a set of KP branded 3D glasses.

The artwork comes from long term visual collaborator Jason Baker. The scenes created reflect the aesthetic of the new tracks, all the while continuing to build on the alternative reality explored in the live shows and artwork themes. The artwork is created using new scenes that have not been seen at the established live show before.

Supported through Gilles Peterson's talent development program, Kayla presents her audience with enticing tracks, produced with precision and pushing the boundaries of experimentation.

About to embark on a residency at Worldwide FM (Gilles Peterson’s radio station), Painter is fast emerging as an important figurehead in experimental electronic music today.

‘Made of Light / Sacrifice the Other’ showcases more of the familiar landscape from the producer. The release expands on the world explored in Kayla’s visionary live Site Specific performances streamed in lockdown, where she projects visuals into abandoned spaces and performs during sunset with the changing landscapes. This release further works with light and darkness, to experience the two sides of the same coin in the Kayla Painter world.
